Many hundreds fill the Square and many more line the route of the procession on Good Friday, but nobody except those participating sees what takes place to prepare the procession from inside the Basilica.

With the help of the attached pictures we try bringing this to you.

To start with, those taking part have to prepare themselves early in the afternoon while the Adoration of the Cross is taking place in the Basilica starting at 3.00 p.m. This religious function, a highlight of the Liturgy on Good Friday is, as the Archpriest insists, not to be missed and should take priority over the Procession. Therefore, as usual a separate function was held in the chapel of the Youth Centre for those who needed to be ready by 5.00 p.m. Fr Noel Saliba conducted the function which started at 1.00 p.m.
