The Maltese saint, San Gorg Preca, founder of the Society of Christian Doctrine (MUSEUM), decreed that on Christmas, the children attending the MUSEUM should go in procession carrying the image of Baby Jesus. In Xaghra this is annually held on the evening of Christmas Day. The weather was good and permitted the procession to take place leaving the Male Section premises at 5.00 pm and winding its way to the Basilica. Boys and the girls, who attend catechism lessons at the MUSEUM, there presented a programme of prose and poetry. It was Francesco Cauchi's turn this year to deliver the traditional 'Sermon by the Boy' which he impeccably did. The Superior of the MUSEUM afterwards presented him with a gift in appreciation for successfully delivering the sermon which he learnt by heart.
