Following last year`s Summer Nights, the Xaghra Local Council is once again this year holding Iljieli Sajfin (Summer Nights) in Victory Square. These consist of an evening with folk music and dancing entertaining the diners at the seven restaurants surrounding Victory Square which is very popular with visitors to Gozo. The first one to be held this year was on 6 July with another two dates, 20th July and 17th August following. Starting at 20:30 hrs these activities last for about two hours and are an attraction not to be missed. Participating in the first evening were the Xaghra Folklore Group led by its director Mrs Josephine Azzopardi. A singer and a folklore band accompanied the dancers and for over two hours entertained the patrons of the restaurants.
